- Players will be able to accept the quest to become Gunbreaker immediately as long as they have a level 60 disciple of war or magic job.
- Bonus items will be distributed to all the characters on the relevant service account, including those you will create in the future.
- As usual, if you play on both PC and PS4, you need to buy the expansion for both versions. You need only one collector’s edition if you want the related bonuses on both versions. If you have Shadowbringers only for one version, you won’t be able to log into the expansion areas on the platforms for which you didn’t buy the expansion.
- There will be a Collector’s Edition upgrade option including its digital items.
- New players that want to access the new areas need to purchase the Final Fantasy XIV Complete Edition plus Shadowbringers. They’ll also need to go through the story of patch 4.5 if they want to enter the new areas immediately at Shadowbringers’ release.
If you want to see more about Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers, you can check out the official trailer and Gunbreaker job, and the reveal of the new areas, Viera race, YorHa raid, and more, some official screenshots and art pieces released after the keynote, and some fantastic new artwork.
If you want to get ready before it releases, Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood is currently available for PS4 and PC, and a few more updates are coming, including a Final Fantasy XV crossover.
The expansion will officially launch on July 2 for PS4 and PC.
How do I use my Shadowbringers pre-order code to get bonus items?
I originally placed my Shadowbringers standard edition pre-order through the Square Enix store. I don't have the best memory (this was weeks ago) but I vaguely remember the SE store website putting me through some craziness involving making a new account or new login info or something like that (for the SE store itself) before it would let me submit the order for the pre-order. I think it did this back then because the SE store had went to a new website or something like that since I last logged into it? I vaguely remember the SE store site giving that as a reason I needed to change my login info for the store/make a new account... something like that.
Now I have the pre-order bonus code but instead of letting me enter it on the mog station (as I assumed it would), its sending me to a separate SE store website (as far as I can tell) to enter the code there, however, I have no idea how this SE store site/account would remotely be linked to my mog station account? I am concerned that entering this code on some random SE store prompt will just eat it up and the necessary authorizations or whatever won't make it back to my mog station account.
I have heard the horror stories of dealing with the SE store (one reason I try to avoid it) and any sort of SE customer service and experienced some of it first hand in the past... I do not want to lose my pre-order earring, its the only reason I pre-ordered. Any advice?
I am not on steam FF14 and I use the mog station for everything regarding my account. I do have a very old, legacy FF14 account if that makes any difference.
